I am having trouble with my Cumpas? As of now I am using the duende concept I let the duendes count for me instead of improvising. I am working on Alegrias and Solea’ rhythms. In time i realized that counting with feelings is also not working. Cumpas using palmas and cumpas using feeling and emotion is subtly different. The palmas method is more wide and solid in counting 1n 2n 3n | 4n 5n 6n | or 1 2 3 4 5 6 | 7 8 9 10 11 12 | than feelings and emotions that feels uncompressed palmas with a subtle change in rhythm feel.
